Archie is 12 he had never had a guitar lesson before but was very excited to start lessons with Carlie.
Charlie made Archie feel at ease really quickly, he was really thorough at ensuring that Archie was comfortable before beginning the lesson.
He went through the importance of Archie feeling comfortable with the position of his guitar.
Archie plays with a Left handed Guitar, Charlie explained for Archie how best to be set himself up for when he is practicing on his own.
Archie had a lot of questions and requests, which Charlie took all in his stride. He took time to explain things at Archie’s level.
Charlie describes and breaks down the learning process’s very clearly, patiently and precisely. At the same time keeping Archie engaged and checking in with Archie as they go along.
As the lesson progressed Charlie quickly got a feel for what was going to further engage Archie, from a particular song that Archie mentioned to him a few times. Charlie played this to Archie and went through some important information regarding this piece.
I really like that Charlie uses the individuals interest in music taste/pieces. It shows the he is able to be flexible with the lesson plan and go with the flow of the client to keep them as fully engaged as possible.
Between lessons Charlie offers support replying to messages quickly and is keen to find out how Archie is getting on with the pieces he’s practicing.
If a session needs to be rearranged either way, Charlies is very accommodating and flexible.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Charlie to anyone what ever age wishing to learn the Guitar.
